The Spyderco Smallfly is part of the Spyderfly range of knives from Spyderco. It is a butterfly knife—a balisong, and has a 3-inch plain edge blade with G10 handles. The Smallfly is not cheap, it retails for $289.95, but you can get it for around $130-$150 from dealers.
The Smallfly has some inovative features over the conventional balisong. For one, it has an elongated handle which changes the knife’s center of balance. It (handle length) creates a controlled equilibrium feeling when manipulating and swinging. It has a 4-way tip-up clip with a spring loaded lock hatch on both sides. To release the lock latch, you simply need to squeeze the closed handles. The blade is made of 154CM stainless and is sharpened only on one side only with PlainEdge and swedge-gring on the spine.
The Smallfly measures 183 mm overall and 116 mm closed. It weighs only 90 grams. Spyderco butterfly knives are made in Golden, Colorado.
